We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the United States and work collaboratively with our global operations.
The Senior Industrial Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and improving production processes, workflows, and systems to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. You will apply industrial engineering principles, methodologies, and tools to identify inefficiencies, design optimized layouts, and implement effective solutions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and management teams. You will lead projects related to process improvement, capacity planning, automation, and lean manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of driving significant operational improvements in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop data-driven recommendations. Design and implement optimized workflows, layouts, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) to drive continuous improvement. Develop and utilize simulation modeling and other analytical tools to evaluate process changes and predict outcomes. Lead and manage industrial engineering projects from conception to implementation, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to implement process improvements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Conduct time and motion studies to establish production standards and benchmarks. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions to improve operational performance. Mentor junior industrial engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience as an Industrial Engineer, with a focus on process optimization and manufacturing environments. Proven experience in applying lean manufacturing principles and tools to achieve significant operational improvements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), and statistical analysis software. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead complex initiatives. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Experience with ERP/MRP systems is beneficial. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a remote setting. Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.
