Our client, a leading industrial conglomerate with a global footprint, is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to lead initiatives focused on operational efficiency and process optimization. This on-site role is critical for analyzing complex manufacturing and supply chain operations, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. You will leverage your expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and simulation modeling to drive significant improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing production processes, workflows, and facility layouts to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Design and conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work and evaluate performance. Utilize simulation modeling software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) to test process changes and predict outcomes before implementation. Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) programs to monitor and control process variability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain, to implement process improvements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and methods to improve operational efficiency. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and project outcomes for management. Train and mentor junior engineers and operational staff on industrial engineering principles and best practices. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all implemented processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on operations optimization, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma implementation. Proven experience in applying Lean principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) and Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt or Green Belt certification is a strong plus). Proficiency with simulation modeling software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis tools. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and operations management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in CAD software for facility layout and process design. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution environment is highly desirable. This position requires your presence at our facility in **Chicago, Illinois, US**. Join our dedicated team and contribute to driving operational excellence across our organization.
