Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer focused on Process Optimization to join their manufacturing operations in Los Angeles, California, US . This role is critical for enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving productivity throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. You will leverage your expertise in process analysis, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement to drive significant operational gains. This is an on-site position requiring collaboration with production teams and management.
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement data-driven solutions using lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools. Design and optimize production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems. Conduct time and motion studies, capacity planning, and resource allocation analyses. Develop and implement performance metrics to track and measure operational improvements. Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process changes and ensuring successful adoption. Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for new processes. Utilize simulation software and data analytics tools to model process changes and predict outcomes. Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain departments to ensure integrated process solutions. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in industrial engineering. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in process improvement initiatives. Manage project timelines and budgets for process optimization projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and lean manufacturing. Proven experience implementing lean Six Sigma projects (certification preferred). Proficiency in process mapping, simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim), and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab). Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality control principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with automation and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
