Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to drive process optimization initiatives in Atlanta, Georgia, US . This role will be instrumental in analyzing, designing, and implementing improvements to manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. You will leverage your expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and simulation modeling to identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and implement best practices across various departments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering tangible results in industrial settings.
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify areas for improvement using statistical analysis and data visualization tools. Design and implement new processes and systems that enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and root cause analysis. Lead and facilitate Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and variability in processes. Utilize simulation software to model and evaluate proposed process changes before implementation. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of process improvements. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency, cost savings, and quality improvements. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and operational staff on process improvement methodologies. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in industrial engineering and manufacturing. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering roles, with a strong focus on process improvement and optimization in a manufacturing environment. Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is highly desirable. Proficiency in lean manufacturing techniques. Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data. Excellent project management and leadership skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
