Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Industrial Engineering Manager to lead their operations in Los Angeles, California, US . This hybrid role offers a dynamic environment where you will drive process improvements, optimize operational efficiency, and implement innovative engineering solutions across manufacturing and supply chain functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing, simulation, and data analysis, with a proven ability to manage engineering teams and lead complex projects. You will play a key role in enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance and oversight on project execution and professional development. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize production processes, workflow, and facility layouts. Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce operational costs. Conduct process simulations and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and validate proposed solutions. Design and implement efficient material handling systems, inventory management strategies, and supply chain processes. Oversee the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Logistics to achieve operational excellence. Manage capital investment projects related to facility expansion, equipment upgrades, and process automation. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and project success. Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems. Stay current with advancements in industrial engineering, automation, and operational best practices. Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role. Proven experience leading teams of engineers and managing large-scale operational improvement projects. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly desirable), and other process improvement methodologies. Strong proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), statistical analysis tools, and CAD software. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and production planning. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution. Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
