Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing and engineering solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Process Engineer to optimize production processes and enhance operational efficiency. This role, based in the vibrant city of San Diego, California, US , is critical to ensuring the smooth, cost-effective, and high-quality output of our manufacturing facilities. You will be instrumental in analyzing existing workflows, implementing innovative process improvements, and driving best practices across our production lines. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in terms of quality, cost, and throughput. Develop, design, and implement new or modified manufacturing processes and equipment to enhance productivity and product quality. Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools to drive operational excellence. Conduct process capability studies, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for production issues. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes. Collaborate with engineering, production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing optimization of processes. Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety protocols. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing operations. Manage process improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget. Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial process engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation, and process control systems. Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and problem-solving techniques. Experience with CAD software for process layout and design is beneficial. Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change initiatives. Experience in industries such as aerospace, electronics, or medical devices is highly desirable.
