Our client is a leader in industrial innovation and seeks a highly experienced Senior Industrial Process Optimization Engineer to join their progressive team. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing and production processes. The position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for strategic planning and analysis remotely, complemented by on-site collaboration and implementation support within our facilities.
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing industrial processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies utilizing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement techniques. Design and recommend modifications to production lines, equipment, and workflows to enhance performance. Utilize process simulation software and data analytics to model and predict process outcomes. Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of process optimization projects. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost. Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste. Stay current with advancements in industrial engineering, automation, and manufacturing technologies. Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management. This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, based out of our Boston, Massachusetts, US location. You will be expected to work remotely on certain days and on-site at our facilities as needed for project collaboration and implementation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering or process improvement roles. Proven track record of successfully implementing process optimization projects that resulted in significant measurable improvements. In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and data analysis tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is beneficial. Candidates must be adaptable and able to manage tasks in both remote and on-site environments.
