Job Description

Our client, a highly respected investment banking firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Investment Banking Analyst to join their Mergers & Acquisitions team in San Diego, California, US . This role provides a unique opportunity to gain significant experience in executing complex financial transactions, including M&A advisory, corporate finance, and capital raising. You will play a crucial role in financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and client presentation preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of finance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Responsibilities include:

Developing complex financial models for valuation, forecasting, and scenario analysis (DCF, LBO, comparable companies, precedent transactions). Assisting in the execution of M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side mandates. Conducting comprehensive industry research and due diligence to support client advisory. Preparing client presentation materials, including pitch books, Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), and management presentations. Supporting senior bankers in client meetings and negotiations. Analyzing financial statements and market data to identify key trends and insights. Coordinating with legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors during transaction processes. Building relationships with clients and contributing to business development efforts. Staying current with market trends and financial regulations. Mentoring junior analysts and contributing to team development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or transaction services. Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet). Strong understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance theory. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated interest in M&A and capital markets. Relevant certifications or coursework in finance are a plus.
