Our mission is to provide a cloud-agnostic, reliable, and cost-effective compute backend that powers GM AI. Our platform enables rapid innovation for high-priority machine learning use cases, focusing on robust training and deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning models while maximizing GPU utilization. We aim to deliver performance, availability, and scalability.

About the Role:

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to help us enhance our platform's performance, reliability, and usability. Your role will involve building essential backend services, integrating with GPU hardware, and improving system architecture and user experience. This is a hands-on engineering position, requiring expertise in distributed systems and a strong product mindset.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop core backend software components for our platform.
  • Utilize cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.
  • Excel in a dynamic environment while collaborating with various teams.
  • Analyze, enhance, and ensure the efficiency and stability of system resources.
  • Identify, lead, and design transformative initiatives within GM's ML ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Go, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes at scale.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving large initiatives.
  • Experience with cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with GPU/TPU optimizations.
  • Experience with training frameworks such as PyTorch or TorchX.
  • Knowledge of the Ray framework.
  • Active participation in the open source community.
  • Experience in infrastructure applications or similar roles.

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is $198,900 - $304,800, with actual compensation depending on relevant factors.
  • Potential commission details may apply.

Bonus Potential: Incentive payouts based on company and individual performance.
