Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Computer Vision

Our client, a leading technology innovator, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a specialization in Computer Vision to join their cutting-edge team in Chicago, Illinois, US . This role is critical in developing and deploying advanced AI solutions that power our client's next-generation products. You will work on challenging problems in image recognition, object detection, video analysis, and other core computer vision domains. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical background in machine learning and deep learning, coupled with hands-on experience in building and optimizing production-ready ML systems. Responsibilities: Design, develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms for computer vision applications. Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines for data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment. Optimize ML models for performance, efficiency, and resource utilization on various hardware platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, gather data, and integrate ML solutions into products. Stay current with the latest research and advancements in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision. Develop and maintain robust testing and validation procedures for ML models. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ML model performance and production deployment. Contribute to the architecture and design of ML systems and infrastructure. Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in ML engineering. Document code, models, and processes thoroughly. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, with a strong focus on computer vision. Proven experience in developing and deploying deep learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. Expertise in programming languages like Python, C++, and associated ML libraries. Strong understanding of computer vision fundamentals, including image processing, feature extraction, and various CV algorithms. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps tools. Proficiency in data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong communication and documentation skills. Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing is a plus.
