Job Description:

The Analytics, Insights & Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team delivers data‑driven insights and advanced analytics solutions that support strategic decision‑making across the organization. Within AI2 we are building a modern Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence that supports six business segments across Canada. The Strategy Lead plays a critical part in shaping how self-serve business intelligence will drive efficiency, and faster decision making across TD.

You will sit at the intersection of strategy, standards, governance and relationships. You will help define where we go, how we get there, and how we bring leaders and BI community along the journey. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad influence and high visibility.

You will report to the Head of the BI COE and work closely with senior leaders across the organization.

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the Business Intelligence strategy for the COE, from vision to execution
  • Translate enterprise and segment priorities into clear BI roadmaps, outcomes, and measurable value
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across six business segments
  • Partner with technology and data teams to align platforms, tooling, and architecture with BI strategy
  • Shape standards and best practices for reporting, dashboards, and data visualization
  • Drive adoption of self-serve BI and modern AI capabilities to accelerate efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to existing BI controls and processes to de-risk how we operate
  • Provide thought leadership on tools and platforms including Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and related data and visualization technologies
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority
  • Influence decision making through clear storytelling, strong presentations, and executive-ready materials
  • Represent the BI COE in senior forums and act as a visible ambassador for the BI CoE

What success looks like

  • Leaders trust you as a strategic partner, not just a reporting expert
  • BI initiatives are clearly tied to business outcomes and priorities
  • Standards improve quality and consistency without slowing teams down
  • Senior leaders understand the story behind the data and act on it
  • The BI COE is seen as modern, pragmatic, and valuable

What you bring

  • Deep experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect data to decisions
  • Hands-on knowledge of BI and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Azure, Databricks, modern data platforms and AI.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple lines of business
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Confidence presenting to executive and senior leadership audiences
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping problems that are not fully defined
  • Experience operating at an enterprise level, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategy

Experience and education

  • Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree is an asset
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, or related fields
  • Experience in large, complex organizations is strongly preferred
