Position Purpose:
The Senior Manager - Special Projects Lead in Finance plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Stores Finance, VP of Stores Finance, and the Regional Finance Lead team by providing financial leadership and insightful analytics. This position is instrumental in achieving business objectives, enhancing team efficiencies, and maximizing shareholder value. You will conduct in-depth financial analyses that support sales initiatives, identify cost-saving opportunities, and influence key P&L metrics. Additionally, you will guide the translation of strategic initiatives' impacts across the US Divisions' P&L while spearheading processes and innovations within the Regional Finance Lead team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis and Problem Solving: Develop a comprehensive understanding of business operations; identify and implement process improvements. Oversee the preparation of the annual budget, monitor monthly expenditures, and ensure compliance with budgetary goals. Analyze monthly metrics to confirm target achievements.
- Project Management: Cultivate strategic partnerships with various stakeholders. Participate in cross-functional efforts to address business challenges and strengthen our competitive edge. Facilitate robust communication between departments including Finance, Operations, and Information Systems.
- Team Leadership: Organize and lead work teams effectively to accomplish financial objectives. Utilize performance metrics to manage workflow and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Revenue and Expenditure Forecasting: Provide predictions of financial performance and deliver detailed reports to management.
- Financial Planning: Develop financial plans for the function and make strategic recommendations.
- Drive Financial Metrics: Focus on key functional financial performance indicators.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position typically reports to the Director of Finance.
- You will be responsible for supervising the work of others, including planning, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of subordinates. This may entail direct oversight of a team or coordination across various groups. You will contribute to decisions regarding hiring, performance reviews, and professional development.
Travel Requirements:
- Overnight travel is typically less than 10%.
Physical Requirements:
- This role mostly involves sitting comfortably with opportunities to move around. Occasionally, you may need to lift or move light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be conducted in a comfortable indoor environment with infrequent unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An MBA is preferred.
- Experience leading an analysis or planning team is beneficial.
Minimum Education:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years is required.
