The Senior Manager, Lending & Portfolio Management – Project Management supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of initiatives that modernize credit processes and strengthen portfolio performance across the customer credit lifecycle—including acquisition, underwriting, account management, fraud management, and collections for Consumer and Business Banking.
This role is a hands-on program and project delivery leader, responsible for driving structured execution, coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders, and ensuring initiatives are implemented effectively, on time, and in alignment with business, risk, and customer objectives. The Senior Manager partners closely with Lending, Risk, Product, Fraud, Collections, Operations, Finance, Technology, and Compliance to ensure initiatives are well‑designed, governed appropriately, and delivered with discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Delivery Leadership
- Lead and coordinate priority projects and workstreams that enhance credit lifecycle processes, capabilities, and platforms.
- Support program planning, scope definition, requirements gathering, project schedules, resourcing, and status reporting.
- Maintain strong project discipline, ensuring clarity of objectives, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to align delivery activities with lending, risk, operational, and customer goals.
Credit Lifecycle Transformation
- Translate business and risk priorities into clear project requirements, ensuring deliverables strengthen portfolio quality, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to modernization work across credit underwriting, customer management, digital enablement, fraud prevention, and collections strategies.
- Coordinate cross‑functional inputs across product lines and channels to ensure solutions support an integrated, end‑to‑end credit lifecycle.
Execution Management & Delivery Oversight
- Manage execution of multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring teams are aligned, risks are identified early, and issues are resolved quickly.
- Drive effective change‑management planning, including communications, training, rollout, and readiness assessments.
- Track and report on key milestones, delivery risks, resource needs, and performance indicators to maintain operational transparency and delivery momentum.
Governance, Risk, Controls & Reporting
- Support governance routines including steering committee materials, leadership updates, and project documentation.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory expectations, internal risk frameworks, and enterprise change‑management standards.
- Provide concise, decision‑ready updates on program progress, challenges, and required escalations.
Stakeholder Coordination & Enterprise Collaboration
- Serve as a central coordination point across Lending, Risk, Technology, Fraud, Collections, Operations, and Product teams.
- Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Build strong, trust‑based partnerships across the enterprise to accelerate delivery and ensure alignment on goals and interdependencies.
Team Contribution & Capability Development
- Mentor analysts and junior project managers in structured execution, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and project documentation.
- Promote a culture of accountability, operational discipline, problem‑solving, and collaborative delivery.
- Contribute to strengthening project management frameworks, tools, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of experience in lending, credit risk, program/project management, or enterprise transformation in financial services.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional projects within the credit lifecycle (acquisition, underwriting, account management, fraud, collections).
- Strong project-management skills, including planning, delivery oversight, issue management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to prepare and present executive‑ready insights, status updates, and recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues and d
