Role Overview
The Senior Manager of IT is responsible for the strategy, operations, security, and continuous improvement of Tunnl’s internal technology ecosystem. This role owns all corporate IT systems and SaaS platforms, including identity and access management, endpoint lifecycle management, onboarding and offboarding automation, and IT service delivery.
This leader ensures employees and contractors have secure, reliable, and efficient access to the tools they need while maintaining strong governance, cost control, and operational rigor. The role partners closely with Engineering, Security, HR, and Finance to build a scalable, automated, and audit ready IT environment.
Tunnl operates as a cloud native, SaaS first organization. The Senior Manager of IT will be responsible for administering and optimizing systems such as Rippling HRIS and Rippling IT, Google Workspace, Jamf, Slack, Zoom, Google Drive, Asana, Notion, Keeper, and other critical business platforms.
What You’ll Do
Own and Operate All Corporate IT Systems
- Serve as the accountable owner for all internal IT platforms and SaaS systems
- Administer Rippling HRIS and Rippling IT to manage identity, device lifecycle automation, and workforce changes
- Manage Google Workspace including email, groups, Drive, security policies, and administrative controls
- Oversee endpoint management through Jamf and Windows device management tools such as Intune or equivalent
- Administer collaboration and productivity platforms including Slack, Zoom, Asana, Notion, and Google Drive
- Manage password management systems such as Keeper
- Ensure high availability, strong configuration standards, and secure system administration across the enterprise
Automate Onboarding and Offboarding
- Design and maintain automated provisioning and deprovisioning workflows across all SaaS platforms
- Integrate HRIS with identity and access management systems to enable role based access control
- Ensure immediate and complete access revocation upon termination
- Design and maintain automated device provisioning and imaging workflows for both macOS and Windows laptops
- Implement zero touch deployment standards using tools such as Jamf, Rippling IT, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, or similar platforms
- Continuously expand automation coverage to reduce manual intervention and operational risk
Endpoint and Hardware Lifecycle Management
- Own purchasing, configuration, deployment, and tracking of company hardware
- Maintain inventory of laptops, monitors, and peripherals
- Establish lifecycle replacement policies and budget planning
- Ensure secure device configuration standards and compliance across macOS and Windows environments
Access Governance and Security Controls
- Define and maintain IAM roles, group policies, and least privilege access standards
- Conduct periodic access reviews across all SaaS platforms
- Partner with Security to support compliance audits and data protection requirements
- Maintain integration between Rippling, Google Workspace, and other core systems
License and Cost Management
- Track and optimize SaaS license utilization across all platforms
- Lead vendor management and renewal negotiations
Provide visibility into IT operating costs and drive efficiency improvements
- Establish governance for software procurement and entitlement management
IT Service Delivery and Metrics
- Own the IT ticketing system and helpdesk operations
- Define and report on service level metrics including response time, resolution time, and end user satisfaction
- Identify recurring issues and implement systemic improvements
- Build scalable support processes aligned with company growth
Cross Functional Partnership
- Partner with HR to streamline workforce lifecycle processes
- Partner with Engineering on system integrations and automation
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and asset tracking
- Serve as the primary internal escalation point for corporate IT issues
Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, corporate systems administration, or IT infrastructure leadership
- Direct experience administering Rippling HRIS and Rippling IT or comparable HRIS and device management platforms
- Strong hands on experience with Google Workspace administration
- Experience managing macOS environments using Jamf or similar MDM platforms
- Experience managing Windows environments using Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, or similar tools
- Experience implementing automated macOS and Windows device imaging and zero touch provisioning workflows
- Experience administering collaboration and productivity tools such as Slack, Zoom, Asana, and Notion
- Experience managing password management systems such as Keeper or similar platforms
- Demonstrated experience designing automated onboarding and offboarding workflows
- Strong understanding of identity and access management, role based access control, and SaaS integrations
- Experience leading IT service desk operations with defined SLAs and measurable KPIs
- Proven experience managing SaaS licensing, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands on in a scaling, SaaS focused organization
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively across technical and non technical teams
