About the Opportunity
Meriton Partners is proud to be partnered with a fast-growing, U.S.-based energy and infrastructure business that is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of high, medium, and low voltage electrical distribution equipment.
The company is scaling rapidly, delivering custom, engineered-to-order solutions for large industrial and data-driven applications. Its manufacturing operations sit at the core of that growth, with increasing demand driving the need for stronger process control, efficiency, and output.
This role is focused on improving manufacturing performance across complex electrical assembly environments. It combines industrial engineering principles with hands-on involvement in production, working closely with design, operations, and quality teams to optimise how products are built, tested, and delivered.
Essential Functions
- Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes across assembly, wiring, busbar fabrication, and final testing of HV, MV, and LV equipment
- Design and optimise production layouts, workflows, workstations, and material flow to improve throughput and reduce waste
- Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks and improve efficiency
- Partner with design and electrical engineering teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, assembly, and testing
- Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, routers, BOMs, and visual production aids
- Lead process validation activities including PFMEA, control plans, and capability studies
- Troubleshoot production issues relating to quality, yield, and efficiency, and implement corrective actions
- Support new product introductions, including pilot builds, tooling requirements, and production ramp-up
- Specify and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and test systems
- Track and improve KPIs including yield, scrap, labour efficiency, and delivery performance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Work cross-functionally with quality, supply chain, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production challenges
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Clear communicator who can work across operators, engineers, and leadership
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive improvements end-to-end
- Practical problem-solver who challenges existing processes
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
- Collaborative team player with high personal standards
- Motivated and driven to contribute to a growing operation
Experience / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3–8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, ideally in electrical equipment or complex assembly environments
- Strong grounding in industrial engineering principles applied to production
- Experience working with HV, MV, or LV electrical products highly desirable
- Understanding of electrical safety, testing, and power distribution fundamentals
- Proficiency with lean tools, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP/MES systems
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, UL, IEC)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capability
- Able to work on-site in the Houston area
Preferred Experience
- Experience with switchgear platforms (e.g. Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric) or similar
- Background in custom-build or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
