Senior Manufacturing Engineering Lead (Direct Hire)

Location: Tacoma, WA

Salary: $93,000 Annually

Position Type: Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime

Overview

Saxon is partnering with one of our clients to hire a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Lead for a direct hire opportunity in Tacoma, WA. This role provides technical leadership while driving process optimization, continuous improvement, and successful new product introductions within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians
• Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
• Oversee project planning, timelines, and execution of engineering initiatives
• Support production through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Lead equipment selection, automation, and capital improvement projects
• Manage new product introduction (NPI) from design transfer through production ramp-up
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
• Experience with process design, PFMEA, and validation
• Hands-on experience with automation, equipment, and production tooling
• Proficiency in CAD and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
