Job Description

Our client, a leading innovator in advanced manufacturing solutions based in **New York City, New York, US**, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in automation and robotics. This position is critical to optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving technological advancements within our state-of-the-art facilities.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, implementation, and validation of automated manufacturing systems, including robotic cells, PLC-controlled machinery, and integrated production lines. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to automated equipment and manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, design engineering, and operations, to define automation requirements and ensure successful project execution. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and equipment manuals. Manage vendor relationships for automation equipment and services, including procurement, installation, and commissioning. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven solutions. Stay current with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices, recommending and integrating new solutions where appropriate. Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Contribute to the strategic planning of future manufacturing capabilities. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on automation and robotics. Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and industrial robot programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB). Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems. Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling and fixture design. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC). Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization. Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, automotive) is a plus. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
