Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to oversee and optimize production processes at their state-of-the-art facility in Boston, Massachusetts . This is a hands-on role critical to ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for analyzing existing production lines, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements to increase throughput and reduce costs. This includes developing and validating new manufacturing procedures, selecting and implementing appropriate equipment, and ensuring adherence to strict quality control standards. You will work closely with production staff, quality assurance teams, and engineering departments to troubleshoot production issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. A deep understanding of manufacturing principles, Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC) is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements that have led to measurable gains in productivity and quality. You will also be involved in capacity planning, production scheduling, and the management of manufacturing documentation. Strong project management skills are required to lead cross-functional teams in implementing complex process changes. This role demands excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be expected to stay current with industry best practices and emerging manufacturing technologies. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required, along with significant experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and yield. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions. Evaluate, select, and implement new manufacturing equipment and technologies. Develop and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams and PFMEAs. Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product transfer from R&D to production. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Train production personnel on new processes and equipment. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and SPC. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and automation.
