Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer - Automation Focus

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer with a specialization in automation to join their innovative team. This role is based in **Atlanta, Georgia, US**, and requires an on-site presence.

As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on automation technologies. Your core responsibility will be to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce operational costs through the application of advanced automation solutions. This includes evaluating current manufacturing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies for integrating robotics, automated assembly lines, and other intelligent manufacturing systems.

Key responsibilities involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of automated processes. You will develop process documentation, train operators on new automated systems, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. A thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and Industry 4.0 concepts is essential. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming, robotic system integration, and SCADA systems.

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 4 years focused specifically on automation and process improvement in a manufacturing environment, is required. Proven experience with designing and implementing automated production lines and troubleshooting complex automation systems is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience with CAD software and simulation tools is also beneficial.
