Job Title: Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer 3 (Environmental Control Systems)

Location: Long Beach, CA (100% Onsite)

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Rate: $65 - $70/hr

Shift: 1st Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to support Spares Engineering Design. This role focuses on providing engineering solutions for obsolescent parts and supporting structural integrity across the aircraft portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis at the sub-component level to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
  • Develop and review engineering solutions for legacy and supplier-related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including stress, procurement, and suppliers
  • Guide and support junior engineers and contribute to team development
  • Interpret and apply industry and company standards, processes, and policies
  • Utilize engineering tools such as CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and related systems
  • Improve analytical processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in structural and/or payload design engineering
  • 5+ years in a commercial aircraft environment
  • Experience with 2D/3D design and GD&T
  • Knowledge of design release processes, tooling, and supplier-driven changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of design engineering experience in aerospace
  • Experience with production, sub-components, or spares engineering
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams
