Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team. This is a fully remote position, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects without geographical constraints. You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems, from concept through to production. This includes creating detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and performing stress analysis and simulations using industry-standard software.
Key responsibilities involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs. You will conduct design reviews, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and manufacturing processes. You will also be involved in prototyping, testing, and validating designs to meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment are critical. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer with a passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the advancement of our technology.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with remote colleagues and stakeholders. Experience in specific industries such as aerospace, automotive, or medical devices is a plus. You should be comfortable working with complex systems and have a solid understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles. A proactive approach to learning new technologies and methodologies is highly encouraged.
