Our client, a cutting-edge robotics and automation company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in **Dallas, Texas, US**. This role is focused on the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced robotic systems and components. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for taking projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring mechanical integrity, functionality, and manufacturability. This involves creating detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or similar software, performing stress analysis using FEA, and selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and systems engineers to integrate mechanical designs with electronic and control systems. Key responsibilities include conducting design reviews, troubleshooting design issues, optimizing designs for performance and cost, and developing and executing verification and validation test plans. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanisms, kinematics, dynamics, and control systems relevant to robotics. Experience with high-precision mechanisms, actuators, sensors, and robotics end-effectors is highly desirable. Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles is crucial. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. A minimum of 6 years of relevant mechanical design experience, with a significant focus on robotics or automation, is necessary. Experience with simulation tools and rapid prototyping methods is a plus.
