Senior Mechanical Engineer - Healthcare

Our client, a growing, multi-discipline engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join and help lead a high-performing team. This role is ideal for a technical leader who enjoys both hands-on design and mentoring others, with an interest in expanding into sectors such as healthcare, education, and data centers.

The Role

You will play a key role in shaping and scaling a 14-person mechanical team, driving complex project delivery while elevating technical standards and team capability. This position blends design expertise, client engagement, and leadership, with a clear path to influence the next generation of engineering leadership within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and project execution across diverse building types

• Act as a trusted advisor to owners, architects, and contractors

• Mentor and develop junior engineers

• Support expansion into new market sectors

• Ensure quality, compliance, and innovation across all projects

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

• PE license required

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC/plumbing design

• Strong project management and client-facing experience

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Experience

• Healthcare, education, federal, science & technology, or data centers

• Familiarity with California building codes and AHJs

• Project management certification (a plus)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $130K–$180K (DOE)

• Paid overtime
