Job Description

Our client, a leader in industrial automation and robotics, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Dallas, Texas, US . This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending the benefits of remote flexibility with essential on-site collaboration. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge robotic systems and components, driving advancements in manufacturing efficiency and precision.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic platforms, including manipulators, end-effectors, and mobile bases. Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Perform stress analysis, kinematic simulations, and thermal analysis to ensure design integrity and performance. Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with control systems and sensors. Specify materials, components, and manufacturing processes, working closely with vendors and manufacturing partners. Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and production units, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements. Contribute to the product roadmap, identifying opportunities for technological advancement and new product features. Document designs, test results, and technical specifications according to company standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Participate in design reviews and present technical information to cross-functional teams. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on robotics, automation, or complex electromechanical systems. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred), including surfacing and advanced assembly techniques. Experience with simulation tools for structural analysis (FEA) and motion analysis. Solid understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and mechatronics. Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, 3D printing). Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment. Experience with industrial robots and their applications is a plus. Ability to commute to our Dallas, Texas, US office as needed for collaboration and hands-on testing.
