We are looking for a Mechanical Procurement Engineer specialized in sheet metal and mechanical fabrication . You will work closely with design, operations, quality, and manufacturing partners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality and cost-optimized mechanical components.
This role requires a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, mechanical drawings, and supplier coordination in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, as well as close collaboration with our manufacturing partner in
Singapore .
🛠️ Main responsibilities
- Manage direct procurement activities for mechanical components, mainly sheet metal parts and fabricated assemblies.
- Ensure availability of parts according to quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
- Coordinate daily with manufacturing and fabrication suppliers regarding delivery schedules, capacity planning, shortages, and quality topics.
- Lead RFQs, cost analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives with suppliers and internal teams.
- Evaluate technical feasibility of parts, manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, and potential design improvements.
- Work with R&D and mechanical design teams to support DFM/DFx reviews for sheet metal and fabricated components.
- Support qualification of mechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with design and reliability requirements.
- Drive supplier performance improvements, including follow-ups on quality actions, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain procurement documentation, technical drawings, and supplier performance metrics.
- Collaborate closely with local manufacturing partners in Singapore, including regular visits to suppliers and production sites.
- Communicate fluently in English with global engineering, quality, and sourcing teams.

- Hybrid work model with manufacturing partners in Singapore.
- Monthly net salary: 6,500–9,000 SGD (x 12 payments), depending on demonstrated experience.
- Permanent contract from day one.

Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or supplier management for mechanical components.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (cutting, bending, stamping, welding, finishing).
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience evaluating BOMs, cost structures, alternative materials/processes, and supplier capabilities.
- Familiarity with DFM/DFx, root cause analysis, and supplier quality processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- High level of English for international collaboration.
- Experience in industrial machinery, printing, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
