Job Description

Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer

We are now seeking an experienced Senior NPI Engineer to play a key role in introducing complex, high‑value products into production across our established site in Eynsham, Oxford, and our state‑of‑the‑art Industry 4.0 facility in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

About the role:

As a Senior NPI Engineer, you will lead the successful transition of new magnet technology products from development into full‑rate manufacturing. Acting as a critical bridge between R&D and Supply Chain Management, you will ensure that new products are robust, manufacturable, cost‑effective, and meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

You will work in a fast‑paced, technically complex manufacturing environment, motivating and supporting a high‑performing team while collaborating closely with cross‑functional stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Partnering closely with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to ensure final product designs are suitable for scalable, repeatable manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with design and R&D teams to enhance Design for Assembly (DFA) and define clear process engineering requirements that optimise labour utilisation and efficiency.
  • Developing manufacturing processes from early concept through to production readiness, ensuring materials, components, and workflows are optimised for high yield and quality.
  • Introducing, qualifying, and refining new manufacturing processes and equipment to support successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leading and contributing to DFMEA and PFMEA activities to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical and process risks.
  • Establishing strong feedback loops across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, sharing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement once products are in production.
  • Supporting the operational success of both existing and new production facilities, contributing to standardisation, stability, and long‑term manufacturability.

What skills and experience you’ll bring:

  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant, hands‑on experience in manufacturing and process engineering within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring smooth transitions from development into production would be highly advantageous but isn't essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies, with the ability to apply them pragmatically to real‑world manufacturing challenges.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a structured approach to identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling you to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence a wide range of stakeholders.

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive base salary
  • 26 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to 10 days and sell up to 5
  • Up to 10% matched pension contributions
  • BUPA Private Medical Insurance
  • Bonus & Share Save Scheme
  • Free‑to‑use on‑site gym
  • 2 paid volunteering days per year

Siemens Healthineers are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer. If you require any adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know.
