Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Principal Power Electronics Engineer to serve as a technical authority for high‑power AC/DC and DC/AC conversion systems. This individual will lead architecture, design, and technical direction for large‑scale power electronics platforms, including three‑phase UPS systems, high‑kVA converters, and advanced DC power systems.

Ideal candidates bring deep technical expertise, leadership presence, and a passion for solving complex energy challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define system topologies, semiconductor devices, magnetics, and passive component specifications.
  • Oversee development of schematics, PCB layouts, power stages, and subsystem designs.
  • Ensure all designs meet performance, safety, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert across global engineering teams.
  • Guide adoption of simulation, modeling, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) tools.
  • Conduct research, proof‑of‑concepts, and advanced studies in emerging power conversion technologies.
  • Contribute to technical publications, patents, and long‑term platform strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with firmware, mechanical, systems, V&V, manufacturing, and supply chain groups.
  • Support technical decision‑making for senior engineering and product leadership.
  • Provide expert guidance to customer‑facing teams, including sales and field engineering.

Program Ownership

  • Drive projects from concept through industrialization, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Support continuous improvement of development processes, standards, and engineering methodology.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on power electronics design experience.
  • Proven expertise in high‑power converters, UPS, or similar energy systems.
  • Experience with digital control electronics or embedded control (preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation or breakthrough product development.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Proficiency with ECAD tools (Cadence preferred).
