Yank Technologies, Inc. is a wireless power startup in Brooklyn, New York, developing long-range, high power wireless charging technology. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will design, analyze, and improve wireless charging systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead subsystem developments for high-frequency switching power amplifiers, AC/DC, & DC-DC converter tasks for selected projects that are advancing into production
- Develop and implement new circuit designs for new high-power-density DC-DC converters, amplifier configurations, and receiver AC/DC converters based on application specific project requirements
- Research, fabricate, test, analyze, and implement new amplifier configurations for various operational environments
- Collaborate with other engineering team members on EMC/EMI compliance, thermal, manufacturing, and mechanical developments that improve full-system reliability, increase performance, and reduce cost
- Routinely update the CTO on project status, project improvements, and other recommendations
Skills
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of full-time experience in power electronics design
- 3+ years of full-time product development experience
- Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, analyzing, debugging, and manufacturing power electronics systems in multi-megahertz frequencies using SiC/GaN power semiconductors
- Expert in PCB design, EMC/EMI compliance, and thermal analysis for high power electronic systems
- Excellent oral and written communication
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, make effective and timely decisions, solve problems, and facilitate organizational and procedural changes
- Passion for creating a wireless world where the state of your battery is not a concern but a mere afterthought
- PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Prior experience in automotive, power tools, or aerospace industries
- Prior experience designing MHz switching converter designs
- Prior experience leading other engineering team members
- Prior experience at a startup
