What We’re Looking For:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, with a strong focus on power systems.
  • 7+ years of experience in power system studies, with demonstrated expertise in generator interconnection studies (e.g., feasibility, system impact, and facility studies) within ISO/RTO environments such as PJM, MISO, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of transmission system planning, dynamic and steady-state analysis, and power system stability (transient, voltage, and frequency).
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard simulation tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerWorld, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PSLF.
  • Proven ability to lead studies, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality technical results under tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex system behaviors and provide practical engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and interfacing with clients, ISOs, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment, with a high level of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge (useful but not essential):

  • Experience with inverter-based resource (IBR) modeling and compliance with standards such as IEEE 2800.
  • Familiarity with control systems, power electronics, and renewable generation technologies.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python) for study workflows.

Your Responsibilities will Include:

  • Lead and execute advanced power system studies and network modeling to meet client requirements related to reliability, regulatory compliance, and system performance.
  • Perform and oversee complex studies, including generator interconnection (feasibility, system impact, and facility studies), transient and voltage stability, short circuit, arc-flash, insulation coordination, and power plant/grid integration design.
  • Provide technical leadership in study methodology, model validation, and results interpretation, ensuring high-quality and defensible deliverables.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with ISO/RTO and client standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and global teams, mentoring junior engineers and driving consistent, high-quality execution across projects.
  • Manage client relationships, proactively communicating technical findings, risks, and recommendations while ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Support and contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation, scope definition, and identifying new opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
