Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their dynamic, fully remote team. This pivotal role will involve the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical power systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our power infrastructure, contributing to cutting-edge projects that shape the future of energy distribution. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles, along with extensive experience in simulation and modeling tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of electrical power systems, including schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout drawings. Perform load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination to ensure system stability and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power systems into larger projects, providing technical expertise and guidance. Develop and maintain technical specifications, test procedures, and project documentation. Oversee the commissioning and testing of new power system installations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power systems. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the engineering team. Conduct feasibility studies and provide cost estimates for power system projects. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering. Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD). Strong understanding of protective relaying, switchgear, transformers, and generators. Experience with renewable energy integration and energy storage systems is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team in a remote environment. P.E. license is highly desirable.
