Our client, a leader in the chemical manufacturing sector in Denver, Colorado, US , is seeking an experienced Senior Process Chemical Engineer to optimize and innovate their production processes. This role is vital for ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality across all manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting chemical processes, developing process improvements, and conducting feasibility studies for new process technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs), performing process simulations, optimizing reaction conditions, and managing scale-up activities. You will collaborate closely with R&D, operations, and safety teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and continuous improvement of existing ones. Experience with process safety management (PSM) and hazard analysis (HAZOP) is essential. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering department. Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality. Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in manufacturing operations. Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process technologies and capital projects. Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering documentation. Perform process simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS). Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement recommendations. Collaborate with R&D and operations teams on process scale-up and technology transfer. Monitor and analyze process performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement. Provide technical support and guidance to plant operations personnel. Mentor and train junior chemical engineers. Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices. Manage project timelines and budgets for process improvement initiatives. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical industry. Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer. Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS). Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Familiarity with control systems and instrumentation. Ability to interpret and develop PFDs and P&IDs. Experience with scale-up of chemical processes.
