Senior Process Engineer

Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

The Senior Process Engineer leads the design, specification, and commissioning of chemical processes and pilot plants handling hazardous materials. This hands‑on role supports mission‑critical programs and partners closely with automation, mechanical, and plant engineering teams in a small, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain P&IDs and core process documentation
• Specify process equipment, instrumentation, and control strategies
• Lead pilot plant design, commissioning, and test production runs
• Model and optimize batch and continuous processes using Aspen Plus or similar tools
• Analyze process data to improve safety, yield, and reliability
• Support hazardous material process design, safety reviews, and operations
• Collaborate cross‑functionally and mentor junior engineers

Required Qualifications

• Proven process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related industries
• Hands‑on experience designing and commissioning plant or pilot systems
• Strong background working with hazardous or regulated materials
• Proficiency with P&IDs, process equipment specifications, and instrumentation
• Experience with batch and continuous flow processes
• Proficiency with Aspen Plus or similar simulation software
• Strong technical writing and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Chemical Engineering degree or related field
• Experience with energetics, explosives, pharmaceuticals, or petroleum processes
• Pilot plant scale‑up and transition to production
• Experience mentoring junior engineers

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
