Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their innovative team in San Diego, California . This critical role involves the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to implement and validate new processes and technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles within a manufacturing environment. This position requires on-site presence to effectively collaborate with production teams and oversee process implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet production targets and quality standards. Conduct detailed process analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC). Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, quality, and production, to ensure seamless process integration. Lead and participate in process validation activities, ensuring reproducibility and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Evaluate and recommend new equipment, technologies, and materials to enhance process capabilities. Train production personnel on new or improved processes and procedures. Manage process engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in process engineering and manufacturing technology. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proven track record in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma projects. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation. Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools is desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various departments. Experience in the medical device or electronics manufacturing industries is highly preferred. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus.
