Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, California, US . This critical role focuses on optimizing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within their automotive production lines. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems and equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with a proven track record in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. You will analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and develop innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase throughput. This role requires hands-on experience with various manufacturing technologies, a deep understanding of production workflows, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement are paramount.
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost. Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and production line layouts. Lead process optimization initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of manufacturing systems. Evaluate and select new manufacturing equipment and technologies. Develop and conduct training programs for production staff on new processes and equipment. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on process performance. Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the automotive sector. Proven experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, production planning, and quality control systems. Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus. Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 quality standards.
