Job Description

Our client is a leader in the energy sector, driving innovation in renewable energy solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our dedicated team in Phoenix, Arizona, US . This role is critical to optimizing and developing our advanced energy processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemical engineering principles, process simulation, and scale-up, with a proven ability to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the sustainability of our operations.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize industrial processes for renewable energy production, focusing on efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct feasibility studies, pilot plant trials, and scale-up analyses for new and existing processes. Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and analyze process performance. Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Ensure processes comply with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to implement process improvements and new technologies. Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) and recommend safety enhancements. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide technical training to operational staff. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process efficiency and output. Stay current with advancements in renewable energy technologies and process engineering best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on the energy sector, particularly renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal, biofuels). Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer. Experience with process control strategies and instrumentation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Experience with project management is a plus. Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the energy industry. This is an on-site position requiring dedicated engineering expertise to advance our renewable energy initiatives.
