About the role

Original posting from WHOOP via Ashby

At WHOOP, we’re on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Growth Product team and own critical strategic areas of how we acquire, convert, and retain new members. This is an opportunity to develop and drive the long-term strategy for a core pillar of growth, working backward from an end-state vision to deliver compounding impact on company-level metrics. You’ll operate as a fully self-sufficient strategic leader who translates vague concepts into customer value, raises the bar for product craft across the team, and partners closely with executive stakeholders in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-

  • Develop and maintain the long-term product strategy for several areas at once that span the Growth funnel (acquisition, conversion, activation, or retention),  setting measurable goals tied directly to company growth targets across web and app experiences.
  • Own KPIs over the long term — set the strategic direction, exhibit mastery of priorities and roadmap decisions, and consistently hit customer and business goals quarter over quarter.
  • Lead end-to-end product discovery, delivery, and iteration — contributing across research, ideation, requirements, prototyping, and testing — and partner deeply with Engineering, Design, and Analytics to ship high-impact solutions on accelerated timelines.
  • Design and run a rigorous experimentation program: form explicit hypotheses, validate assumptions, structure A/B tests, and translate learnings into a compounding roadmap of wins.
  • Write crisp product strategy documents and product specs and operate as the directly responsible individual for execution quality from discovery through launch and post-launch iteration.
  • Act as the strategic voice for the customer — speak to member needs, pain points, and behavior better than anyone else in the company, and translate that depth into product decisions and cross-functional alignment.
  • Anticipate complexity and proactively de-risk long-term initiatives through smart scoping, phasing, and technical foresight in partnership with Engineering.
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and executive leadership to influence company-level growth strategy and align cross-functional initiatives around your roadmap.
  • Mentor PMs and analysts across the Growth org, raise the bar for product craft, and contribute to the team’s operating cadence, best practices, and hiring.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-

  • 5–8+ years of product management experience (or equivalent in growth/related roles) with a track record of multiple shipped products that produced measurable, long-term business impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop coherent product strategy from ambiguous problem spaces and then translating strategy into phased, executable roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in SQL and product analytics tools (Amplitude, Sigma, or equivalent) and able to independently pull, model, and interpret data without analyst support.
  • Direct experience with DTC subscription products, digital consumer growth funnels, and best-in-class onboarding and gamification mechanics including running structured experimentation programs at scale.
  • Deep customer empathy and product intuition paired with a rigorous, data-informed mindset; able to read between the lines of customer feedback and form/validate hypotheses explicitly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, drive alignment across senior cross-functional partners, and articulate trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Completely self-sufficient and known for being highly dependable; comfortable defining problems, structuring approaches, and driving clarity in fast-moving, loosely-defined spaces.
  • Track record of mentoring more junior PMs and raising the craft bar of the teams around you.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and energized by a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Passionate about fitness, wellness, and WHOOP’s mission.
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
