We are seeking a contract Senior Python LLM Engineer to improve and modernize IT Operations practices across Azure, GCP, and OpenShift environments. This role will act as a hands-on operational leader and change agent, driving simplification, standardization, and improved service stability within a large-scale enterprise.
About the Role
The contractor will support operational transformation efforts, facilitate major incident management, validate operational readiness, and remediate process gaps across hybrid cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a catalyst to improve IT Operations practices, migrating legacy support models to standardized, simplified frameworks.
- Define operational processes and drive adoption of enterprise best practices.
- Facilitate major incident management calls across Azure, GCP, and OpenShift environments.
- Lead post-incident reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Deliver Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) and assessment artifacts.
- Validate operational controls, monitoring, alerting, and support readiness prior to production release.
- Identify operational deviations and drive remediation efforts.
- Develop Python-based automation and LLM-enabled tooling to enhance operational efficiency and diagnostics.
- Partner cross-functionally with infrastructure, platform, security, and application teams to strengthen service stability.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work, consulting, military, or education).
Required Skills
- Strong Python development skills for automation and operational tooling.
- Hands-on IaaS experience in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deep operational experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container platforms.
- Advanced Unix/Linux systems administration in large enterprise environments.
- Proven experience leading or facilitating high-severity incident management calls.
- Demonstrated ability to influence process improvement and operational framework adoption.
- Experience working within an enterprise IT Operations model.
