About the Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Lead / Manager to own and mature quality engineering across our distributed, cloud‑native payment platforms.

This role goes beyond defining strategy. You will be responsible for driving quality initiatives through execution and measurable outcomes, building structure, discipline, and automation that materially improve system reliability and release confidence. You will lead a mixed team of functional and automation testers while remaining hands‑on where needed to set standards, unblock progress, and raise engineering rigor.

The ideal candidate brings deep automation experience, strong QA leadership, and a track record of building durable quality practices while operating under real delivery pressure.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Own & Deliver

Quality Engineering Ownership

Own the quality engineering function end to end, from strategy through execution and sustained results Embed quality early in the SDLC through proactive, risk‑based testing integrated into design, development, and CI/CD Serve as the senior accountability owner for quality outcomes, not just process adherence Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers with both functional and automation skill sets Establish clear, repeatable standards for test planning, execution, automation, and maintenance Build a culture that treats happy‑path, negative‑path, edge‑case, and failure‑scenario testing as core engineering responsibilities

Automation, Test Assets & Regression

Drive scalable automation across API, backend, UI, and event‑driven systems Ensure test cases, both manual and automated, are documented, organized, maintained, and traceable, forming a durable quality knowledge base Own a robust and reliable regression strategy that remains meaningful as the platform evolves Stay hands‑on as needed to improve automation quality, reduce flakiness, and strengthen signal confidence

Systems Thinking, Resilience & Risk

Extend testing beyond individual stories to system‑level workflows, cross‑service dependencies, and real‑world operational scenarios Lead resilience and fault‑injection testing efforts using AWS‑native or equivalent tooling Partner with Platform and DevOps teams to validate behavior under failure, degradation, and scale Define and track meaningful quality metrics such as automation coverage, regression health, defect trends, and release readiness Use data to drive decisions, prioritize improvements, and clearly communicate quality risk Ensure quality initiatives are executed, measured, and sustained rather than remaining aspirational Required Qualifications 10 to 12+ years of experience in QA or quality engineering, including senior leadership or management roles Significant hands‑on experience building and scaling test automation frameworks Strong understanding of cloud‑native and distributed systems testing, with AWS experience preferred Experience operating in fast‑paced Agile and DevOps environments while balancing delivery and long‑term capability building Preferred Qualifications Experience building or maturing QA organizations in fintech or regulated environments Familiarity with payment processing, transaction flows, or high‑throughput platforms Experience with resilience testing, chaos engineering, or fault‑injection practices Strong communication skills with the ability to translate quality risk into business impact Benefits Opportunity to shape and execute quality engineering at scale Direct influence on the reliability and resilience of mission‑critical payment systems Collaboration with an engineering organization focused on building durable, high‑impact platforms

Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 annual salary
