Responsibilities:

  • Own multiple features within your product area, including complex or ambiguous features, while understanding all functionalities managed by your scrum teams.
  • Assist in onboarding stakeholders (Development teams, Product teams, Q3) with a focus on quality and automation.
  • Advise scrum team members on quality best practices to enhance design and development processes.
  • Influence SFDC quality tools and processes by providing actionable feedback and improvement suggestions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the platform and applications through collaborative testing, ongoing training, and participation in scrum team activities.
  • Understand the areas your scrum teams are responsible for, actively seeking knowledge gaps to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Become an expert in several areas of the product and serve as the go-to resource for your scrum team.
  • Engage in detailed impact assessments, demonstrated through meticulous test planning and reviews.
  • Identify areas needing enhanced testing, organizing reviews to address any issues and ensuring thorough end-to-end feature integration testing.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, specifications, and test plan evaluations, noticing dependencies and edge cases.
  • Stay updated on issues and risks affecting feature deliverables, asking for assistance as required.
  • Mentor scrum teams and Q3 teams in effective test case design practices.
  • Collaborate with scrum teams during each sprint, advocating for high-quality practices such as iterative development and test-driven development.
  • Monitor work methods and outputs to ensure high quality, applying best practices and addressing root causes of issues promptly.
  • Facilitate coordination among team members and encourage innovative problem solving.
  • Assist MTS and AMTS team members in work planning and organization when necessary.
  • Comprehend the technical implementation of your feature, including integration and security considerations.
  • Adopt version control tools like Git for project management.
  • Contribute tests to Ftests, Selenium, and ProdTest for your feature area while adhering to effective coding practices.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
  • A relevant technical degree.
  • Proven programming skills in Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Webdriver/Selenium, and HP QuickTest, along with familiarity with developer tools like Git, Maven, and Eclipse IDE.
  • Extensive knowledge of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience in writing test plans, test cases, and tracking bugs.
  • Proficient in functional automation for both UI and API testing.
  • Acquainted with industry standards in quality and usability.
  • Self-motivated individual who works independently, learns quickly, meets deadlines, and exhibits strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical information clearly and coordinating cross-team initiatives.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
