Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst

Our client, a prominent real estate investment firm, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is based in San Francisco, California, US , and offers a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate markets, financial modeling, and investment valuation, with a proven ability to identify and analyze lucrative investment opportunities.

As a Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst, you will be integral to the firm's investment decision-making process. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth market research, performing detailed financial analysis and modeling for potential acquisitions and dispositions, and preparing investment committee memos. You will evaluate various property types, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, across diverse geographic regions. This role requires a meticulous approach to data analysis, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely. You will work closely with senior leadership, asset managers, and external partners to support the firm's strategic investment goals. The ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and contribute effectively in both an office and remote setting is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential real estate investment opportunities. Perform detailed financial modeling, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, sensitivity analysis, and return calculations (IRR, ROI, cash-on-cash). Evaluate and underwrite potential acquisitions, assessing financial viability, risks, and returns. Prepare detailed investment committee memos and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, and other industry contacts. Analyze real estate market trends, economic indicators, and demographic data to inform investment strategies. Assist in the disposition process by preparing property marketing materials and evaluating buyer offers. Monitor and analyze the performance of existing portfolio assets. Collaborate with legal and finance teams on due diligence processes for acquisitions and dispositions. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in real estate investment. Support senior management in strategic planning and portfolio management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field. Master's degree (MBA or MS in Real Estate/Finance) is a plus. 5+ years of experience in real estate investment analysis, acquisitions, or corporate finance with a focus on real estate. Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques using Excel. Experience with ARGUS Enterprise or similar real estate analysis software. Excellent understanding of real estate capital markets and investment strategies. Proven ability to conduct thorough market research and due diligence. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment. Familiarity with various property types (office, retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality) is advantageous.
