Job Description

Title: Senior R&D Engineer

Location: Austin, TX 78731 – hybrid

Shift Time: 9 AM – 6 PM / 8 AM – 5 PM

Duration: 3-6 Months Contract, then possibility to extend. (The max contract duration is 18 months, then a 3-month cooling period.)

Pay Range: $70 to $74/hr

Job Overview:

The client has an opening for Visual Computing R&D engineering. Candidate will be responsible for:

• Conduct R&D in the areas of spatial computing, computer vision, graphic rendering, avatar animation, AI/ML modeling, and/or other technical areas related to graphic animation and Metaverse.
• Focused innovative research for journal and conference publication, and patents.
• Open-source implementation of demo prototype and core algorithms.
• Work on developing a new imaging dataset of human faces and expressions.
• Industrial and academic collaboration, and professional community involvement.

Requirements:

• PhD & MS in Computer Science, EE, or related fields.
• Proven strong background in academic research and publication
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming : C/C++, Python
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in AI/ML, computer graphics, computer vision, or other visual computing algorithms is a strong plus.
• Industrial experience a plus, particularly the experience with OpenCV, OpenGL, or WebGL.
• Strong mathematical skills, problem-solving, and analytical mindset.
• Eagerness and quickness to learn new technologies
• Software development in related fields with hands-on experience is desired.
