Job Description

The Senior Research and Development Scientist- Bakery leads the development and commercialization of both new and existing product concepts, operating independently from ideation through full implementation. Primary product categories include cookies, bars, crackers, gluten-free products, and extruded snacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage product development initiatives from concept through commercialization, with strong emphasis on manufacturing processes
  • Facilitate the successful transfer of technical knowledge to the Operations team following commercialization
  • Design and implement research programs focused on cost optimization
  • Identify technical challenges and lead cross-functional investigations to determine root causes
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams during commercialization efforts
  • Establish and recommend product specifications and quality standards for both new and existing products
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Procurement, Marketing, Project Management, Sales, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations
  • Serve as a technical leader within the organization and for external clients
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting priorities as business needs evolve
  • Mentor, guide, and oversee the work of other scientists on the team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
