This hybrid role, based in **Seattle, Washington, US**, offers a dynamic research environment where you will contribute significantly to the early stages of novel therapeutic development. You will be instrumental in designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and driving projects from target identification through lead optimization. Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize in vitro and in vivo assays to support drug discovery programs. Lead the identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets. Conduct detailed data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experimental results to project teams and leadership. Contribute to the design and synthesis of small molecules or biologics aimed at modulating target activity. Manage external collaborations with CROs and academic partners. Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature, technological advancements, and competitive landscape in relevant therapeutic areas. Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment. Troubleshoot experimental challenges and develop creative solutions. Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific conferences. Contribute to the development of intellectual property through patent filings. Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline. 5+ years of post-doctoral and/or industry experience in drug discovery. Proven track record of success in leading research projects and contributing to candidate selection. Extensive experience with a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., western blotting, ELISA, cell-based assays, flow cytometry). Experience with biophysical techniques and/or structure-based drug design is a plus. Demonstrated ability to design and interpret complex experiments. Excellent scientific communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong publication record. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Spotfire). Experience mentoring junior scientists. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and hybrid work environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
