Department Overview:
The Electric Risk Management (ERM) team holds a crucial responsibility in evaluating, regulatory reporting, and investment planning for PG&E’s most significant risks. The ERM team implements PG&E's risk decision framework to facilitate a data-driven approach for informed risk-based decisions, emphasizing continuous improvement.
ERM manages risks associated with wildfire, transmission, distribution, and substations. The team collaborates closely with PG&E's electric operations and asset strategy teams to identify and assess existing and emerging risks, support prioritization, quantify risk mitigation strategies, monitor key performance and risk indicators, and assist in investment planning and regulatory proceedings, including WMP, RAMP, and GRC filings.
Position Summary
This position will spearhead the risk quantification efforts for all ERM enterprise risks. The successful candidate will work with risk owners to ensure risks are incorporated into our risk models and that control and mitigation program benefits are accurately represented. This role demands the ability to convey quantitatively where risks exist and how PG&E manages them.
This is a technical role requiring the candidate to adeptly navigate and synthesize diverse data sets. Moreover, the candidate must effectively communicate the workings of quantitative risk models and explain results to risk owners and the leadership team. A successful candidate will be organized, quickly grasp concepts, and adapt to new information. Strong time management skills are essential to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
This position is hybrid, allowing work from both a remote office and an assigned work location based on business needs. The selected candidate must reside within PG&E's service territory.
PG&E provides a salary range that reflects what the company reasonably believes it might pay at the posting time. This range pertains specifically to the job's locality. Actual salary will depend on multiple factors, including skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although the successful candidate is expected to be placed near the middle or entry point of the range, the final decision will be made on an individual basis.
