Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in risk management, insurance claims management, or related field.
- Experience working with insurance carriers, brokers, TPAs, and legal counsel.
- Understanding of claims reserving, litigation management, and cost containment strategies.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with claims management systems preferred.

Position Summary
The Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's insurance and claims management programs, ensuring effective mitigation of operational and financial risks. This role manages claims across multiple insurance lines, including workers' compensation, general liability, property. The ideal candidate will partner cross-functionally to minimize loss exposure and drive proactive risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of insurance claims
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, insurance carriers, brokers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and legal counsel.
- Review, investigate, and manage claims to ensure timely resolution and cost containment.
- Monitor claim reserves, settlement negotiations, and litigation strategies.
- Identify trends and root causes of claims to recommend corrective actions.
Fleet Risk & Driver Monitoring
- Manage the organization's driver monitoring and telematics reporting program.
- Analyze driver performance data to identify safety risks and loss trends.
- Partner with Operations and HR to implement corrective actions and driver safety initiatives.
- Monitor motor vehicle records and ensure compliance with internal driving policies.
Insurance Program Administration
- Assist in policy renewals, underwriting data collection, and exposure reporting.
- Maintain accurate documentation of policies, certificates of insurance, and claims records.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Partner with HR, IT, Operations, and Legal teams to mitigate workplace, operational, and cyber risks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace safety and claims management.
- Support safety initiatives and loss prevention programs.
Reporting & Analytics
- Track and analyze claims data and risk metrics.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership on claim status, trends, and financial impact.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on risk analysis and loss history.
Incident Response
- Coordinate response efforts for property damage, workplace injuries, and cyber incidents.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents to carriers and relevant stakeholders.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts when applicable.
