We are seeking a passionate and data-savvy Senior Risk Analyst to elevate our risk management practices. In this impactful role, you will directly manage casualty claims and utilize analytics to enhance processes across auto liability, general liability, and workers' compensation.
Your responsibilities will include leading both internal and external claims processes, analyzing claims data to uncover trends and drive strategic improvements, enhancing risk mitigation strategies, and supporting the automation of processes. A successful candidate will possess a strong claims background and be adept at translating data into actionable insights.
This position reports to a Senior Manager in Risk Management and will join a technical risk team focused on Netflix's insured and self-funded claims. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage workers' compensation (WC), auto liability, and general liability claims, guiding Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), insurers, and legal teams to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Create intuitive reports to analyze claim data and recommend proactive strategies for risk mitigation and cost reduction.
- Work alongside Finance, Legal, and Safety teams to leverage claims data for operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with insurance program requirements and Netflix's reserving philosophy; approve reserves and settlements within set authority levels, escalating high-risk cases as necessary.
- Review and analyze claims for delays and denials, providing expert guidance for resolution.
- Lead claim reviews and manage TPAs, contributing to overall TPA management.
Return to Work (RTW) Program Support:
- Drive and manage the RTW program for assigned claims, supporting injured employees' transition back to work while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Legal teams to develop and implement effective RTW strategies.
- Oversee return-to-work procedures for designated claims, communicate work restrictions, and coordinate modified duties to minimize expenses.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Extract, clean, and structure extensive claims datasets to improve risk visibility and empower decision-making.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to monitor claims performance, cost trends, and loss projections.
- Employ analytics tools (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, Excel) to identify risk exposures and cost-saving opportunities.
- Streamline and automate claims reporting processes, ensuring data integrity in platforms such as Origami Risk and Riskonnect.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of claim frequency, severity, legal spending, and loss developments.
- Utilize predictive modeling and trend forecasting to enhance proactive risk management.
- Familiarity with actuarial fundamentals and reports is a plus.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Establish strong partnerships with internal Netflix teams, production units, and external entities including TPAs, brokers, physicians, vendors, and payroll companies.
- Advise on loss prevention matters to promote a culture of proactive risk management.
- Address operational needs and serve as a liaison between Productions and TPAs as needed.
- Be adaptable to take on additional projects and provide updates on programs and training to cross-functional partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in risk management, casualty claims, and insurance, preferably focused on Workers' Compensation and Auto liability.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and RMIS.
- Experience with claims management systems like Origami Risk, Riskonnect, or similar platforms.
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies, coverage interpretation, and best practices in claims handling.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Proven project management capability.
- Analytical mindset with a track record of utilizing data to drive results and informed decision-making.
- Able to challenge the status quo and lead effectively in a dynamic and accountable environment.
