As the Senior SCADA and Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining the design, implementation, and integration of control systems across our global operations. You'll contribute to Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and SCADA platforms, ensuring they meet the demands of high-availability environments.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Data Center Design/Build teams, Operations, and diverse vendors to support system designs and validate operational outcomes. Your expertise will be essential to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of our data center environments.
Responsibilities
Controls Engineering & System Design
- Drive the design and implementation of BMS, BAS, EPMS, and SCADA systems for both new builds and retrofit projects.
- Help develop and standardize controls system designs and engineering specifications.
- Contribute to defining controls architectures, including system topology, communication protocols, and alarm strategies.
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with critical infrastructure.
- Facilitate interoperability between controls platforms and enterprise monitoring systems.
Design Reviews & Technical Support
- Engage in project design reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards and operational requirements.
- Offer insights on controls architecture, instrumentation strategies, and integration during project phases.
- Identify potential technical risks and collaborate on effective mitigation strategies.
- Support troubleshooting and resolving SCADA-related issues throughout the commissioning process.
Commissioning & Operational Readiness
- Assist with functional testing and commissioning of control systems, ensuring integrated testing with mechanical and electrical components.
- Verify vendor deliverables for completeness, including point lists and tagging standards.
- Help validate alarm strategies, data integrity, and overall system performance before operational handover.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and post-incident reviews for controls systems.
Cybersecurity & OT Network Integration
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure controls architectures and practices.
- Ensure that controls designs incorporate standards for access control, monitoring, and secure connectivity.
- Participate in documentation and configuration management for control systems.
Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with controls vendors and integrators to ensure project deliverables meet engineering standards.
- Support technical reviews of vendor designs and integration plans.
- Engage with operations and reliability teams to integrate feedback for continuous improvement of future designs.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in data center engineering or industrial control systems.
- Demonstrated experience with BMS, BAS, EPMS, or SCADA systems within complex environments.
- Knowledge of:
- Control system architectures and field instrumentation.
- SCADA and historian platforms.
- Alarm management strategies.
- Functional testing and commissioning practices.
- OT networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, or MQTT.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center environments.
- Familiarity with Ignition SCADA or similar platforms.
- Experience with data integration into centralized analytics platforms.
- Understanding of telemetry aggregation across various systems.
- Experience with commissioning and startup of large infrastructures.

Compensation:
US hiring range: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum, with potential for bonus and equity.
