Next- Low-Altitude Economy Initiative | Scientists & Research Leaders

The working arrangement can be based in your home country (remote collaboration) or in China, depending on your preference and transition planning.

We are building a long-term technical platform focused on the low-altitude economy, advanced aerial systems, and next- engineering capabilities. We are looking to connect with experienced scientists, engineers, and research leaders who care about how frontier aviation and unmanned systems technologies move from technical possibility to real-world deployment.

This initiative is part of a nationally supported innovation programme aimed at strengthening capabilities in advanced aerial mobility, intelligent flight systems, strategic engineering, and large-scale technology infrastructure.

The focus is not only on short-term output, but on building the scientific and engineering foundations required for low-altitude systems to scale reliably, operate safely, and create lasting impact across real-world applications.

Who this is for

You are likely a strong fit if you:

• Hold a PhD from a leading university

• Graduated in 2022 or earlier

• Have several years of post-PhD research or industry experience

• And have worked in areas such as:

Core Research & Enabling Technologies

• Aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and flight physics

• Propulsion systems, power systems, and energy technologies for aerial platforms

• Lightweight materials, structures, and reliability engineering

• Guidance, navigation, and control

• Flight dynamics, modelling, and simulation

• Airspace systems, communication, and enabling technologies for low-altitude operations

Aerial Systems & Engineering

• Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), eVTOL, and next- aircraft design

• Avionics, flight control systems, and onboard instrumentation

• System integration, testing, calibration, and validation

• Autonomous flight systems and mission-critical engineering

• Software-hardware co-design for aerial platforms

• Scalable engineering for low-altitude infrastructure and deployment

Applied Low-Altitude Economy Technologies

• Urban air mobility, drone logistics, and intelligent aerial transportation

• Aerial sensing, imaging, surveillance, and inspection systems

• Emergency response, environmental monitoring, and industrial aerial applications

• High-reliability systems for complex operational environments

• Translation of frontier flight technologies into deployable technical capability
