You will join SEON's Architecture team, reporting to the VP of Architecture. As a Senior Software Architect, you will embed with our AML and device intelligence engineering teams — with a primary focus on AML (roughly 60/40 split) — helping define feasibility during product research and shaping the technical vision for both groups.
These are architecturally rich domains: think high-volume event processing, real-time entity monitoring, cross-jurisdictional compliance constraints, and the unique challenges of device fingerprinting at scale.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Embed in the daily life of two engineering teams: one specialized in AML entity monitoring and case management solutions, and the other focused on device fingerprinting technology.
- Ensure that all initiatives delivered by the teams have a technical design which is in-line with SEON's architectural best-practices, pragmatic (solves the right problems without being overcomplicated), and complete and precise (covering all necessary aspects without loose ends).
- Ensure that security, scalability, and compliance are built into the foundation of all technical designs.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead and Product Managers of the teams to identify the right ways to solve business problems.
- Deliver proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate potential technical directions to take.
- Support the estimation effort during the initiative planning phase.
- Contribute to the delivery of initiatives via hands-on work when needed.
- Act as a technical mentor to the engineers within the AML and Device Intelligence teams, elevating the overall engineering standards and practices.
- Surface recurring architectural challenges to the centralized Architecture team and contribute to company-wide solutions to those problems.
- Document design decisions in the form of Architecture Decision Records.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Strong working knowledge of modern web development technologies, specifically TypeScript and Python.
- Experience with distributed system design.
- Experience designing and scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of how web services and SaaS applications work.
- Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with relational databases (specifically PostgreSQL or YugabyteDB).
- Experience with modern DevOps tools, particularly Kubernetes, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
- Strong understanding of data security best practices and designing systems that comply with strict data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work together with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize your workload.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with the fraud prevention, AML, KYC, or cybersecurity domains is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Kafka and Flink is a plus.
- Experience with native mobile development on iOS or Android is a plus.
- Experience with multiple database/search technologies, specifically Elasticsearch is a plus.
