Senior Software Engineer - AI

Harnham is partnering with an enterprise organisation to hire a Senior Software Engineer (AI) on a contract basis. This role focuses on building and shipping production AI features powered by LLMs into real business applications.

• Contract Role

• Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)

• Rate: $60-$70 per hour W2 only

• Hours: Full‑time (40/week)

• Work Authorization: U.S. only (no sponsorship)

The Role

You'll design backend services and APIs that integrate large language models into production systems. This is a hands‑on engineering role, not research-focused on reliability, scalability, and real‑world usage.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI‑powered backend services

• Develop LLM features using RAG

• Design scalable APIs and microservices

• Own features end‑to‑end: build, deploy, monitor, improve

• Optimise AI latency, quality, and cost

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience

• Strong backend skills (Python, Java, or similar)

• Experience integrating LLMs / AI APIs into production

• Solid RAG and cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure)
